Our Mission
Horse Medicine's mission is to facilitate personal growth, education and the development of skills to overcome obstacles and improve the quality of life for children and adults through on-the-ground activities with horses.

The EAGLE Program

Equine Assisted Growth, Learning and Education (EAGLE) is a collaborative effort between a mental health therapist, equine specialist and horses. Horse Medicine's programs combine Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAL/EAP) to facilitate their mission.

Participants of the EAGLE program interact with horses in unmounted, on-the-ground exercises such as guiding a horse through an obstacle course without the use of a lead rope, halter or touching the horse. Keeping the activities on the ground allows participants to discover for themselves what is needed in order to succeed not only within the context of the exercise but also within the context of life.

The interactions with the horses provide metaphorical experiences that give the participants an opportunity to:

  • Improve self-esteem;
  • Develop self-confidence;
  • Explore possibilities and seek understanding;
  • Gain a sense of empowerment and accomplishment; and
  • Learn teamwork and leadership skills.

Horse Medicine's programs provide a unique and fun environment in which growth, learning and education flourish!
